Going Solar - Made Easy
Deciding on whether or not to go solar can be overwhelming. Many solar customers ask "where do I start". CalWest Solar helps you through the process of going Solar by walking you through each step. The following items may help answer your questions and direct you during the process.
- Determine the Size of your Solar System. CalWest Solar will analyze the last 12 month of PG&E utility bills to estimate your average usage. We will also complete a solar survey using a Solmetric SunEye. This advanced GPS unit will accurately measure your specific solar access and shading. By comparing the solar access with your power usage, we determie the appropriate size solar system to fit your needs.

- Complete an On-Line Energy Audit. The On-Line Energy Audit can be completed as soon as possible. You are required to complete an on-line energy audit prior to reserving your Solar Rebate. This audit is easy to complete and should be done while you are at your home. You will be asked simple questions like how many televisions you have, what kind (projection, flat screen, plasma), how many A/C units you have, and much more. This energy audit may take you 45-60 minutes to complete.
- Reserve your Rebate. Calwest solar will reserve your rebate prior to completing your solar project. This will help guarantee your rebate dollar amount will not be reduced during the project if funding is cut.

- Solar Installation Funding. CalWest Solar can assist you in aquiring funding. There are local financial institutions that specialized in green loans or you may consider using the Sonoma Couny Energy Independence Program (SCEIP) where the county will pay for your solar installation. This is a great option for individuals with limited home equity.
- Solar Installation. Calwest Solar will professionally install your solar system. We will aquire your installation permits, order equipment, and timely complete the installation.
- Paperwork. CalWest Solar will complete the required Interconnect Agreement, Final Cost Worksheet and Field Verification Forms on your behalf.

- Solar System Maintenance. There is very little maintenance involved. CalWest Solar will establish simple maintenance procedures that you can do yourself or we can do on a periodic basis.
